January’s Pattern of the Month

Given the Chinese New Year is on the last day of January — it’s the Year of the Horse, I thought a pattern with impact featuring red would be appropriate.

Amara, a large scale pattern, shown above in the ‘Red’ colorway, definitely fits the bill.  You can get a good idea of its scale in the photo below.

This pattern would be at home in a variety of décor styles, as it mixes the use of a traditional motif with the use of a contemporary over-sized scale and color palette.  A nice feature of Amara is the relaxed feeling conveyed by the pattern’s design,  although using the red colorway will certainly provide a jolt of energy.

Amara is from Jane Churchhill’s  Paradise Garden collection at Cowtan & Tout and is available in the four colorways at the bottom of this post.
